Archetype Overview: Overseers
The Overseers
So, there are currently five unit archetypes in the swarm, and the first I'm going to cover here (as well as the point you'll probably build your squad around) is the Coordinator, the brains of the fight.
While their weapons and armour are often mid-tier, Coordinators should not be considered front line fighters. They are much more useful for their abilities and aura effects, usually focused around buffing their allies but later coordinators may focus more on affecting enemies, or the environment itself.
In fact, even if they aren't the most expensive units you can bring, loosing your coordinator is almost always a major blow because suddenly your entire army will be preforming worse. That's why they often have defensive abilities as well.
From left to right
The R.U.R Forward Commander has fairly good armour and can command the unthinking robots fighting alongside to take a bullet for them if ones nearby, in return they can push their mechanical soldiers to feats of aggression and tactics that their manufacturers never intended
The Monster Maker Wrangler uses a living cloak devised from mimic octopus stock to hide in plain sight, while using a bewildering variety of implant signals, manufacture pheromones and programmed animal calls to control the seemingly uncontrollable monsters they unleash.
The Steel Legion Overseer doesn't have the strongest armour, but their retrorockets give them effective bursts of speed even in gravity, and their Silver Rail rifle opens up unique target control opportunities. They mostly focus on maintaining communication between their comrades with their suits integrated signal suite.
